Discover the Best Spots to Watch Fireworks with Kids in Singapore for NDP 2024

Is anyone else’s kid as obsessed with fireworks as BBG? 🎇🎆

If your little one absolutely loves watching planes, helicopters, and fireworks, you're in luck!

Here are some tried and tested locations we've explored this year that will make your next family outing a blast.

Grass Patch opposite Marina Bay Financial Centre

Why It's Awesome:

• Space: This massive grass patch offers plenty of room for kids to run around freely, making it an ideal spot for families.

• Crowd: While it's popular, the crowd is manageable, so you won't feel overwhelmed.

• Food: Located right next to @chimis_sg, which serves up possibly the best fish tacos I've ever tasted! 🌮

Parking Tips:

• We parked at MBFC Tower 3. The only downside? The queue to get out of the car park can be long, so plan accordingly. For us, the husband went to collect the car once the fireworks started, and waited for us at the side of the road so we could drive off as soon as the party was over!)

Esplanade Waterfront

Why It's Awesome:

• View: Walk all the way to the end of the waterfront, right next to the floating platform construction site. Here, you'll get a superb view of the planes, helicopters, and an absolute front-row seat to the fireworks!

• Space: There's ample room for BBG to run around and burn off some energy.

• Food: You'll find great food options nearby, perfect for a pre-show meal.

Cons:

• It’s a bit of a trek from City Hall MRT, and driving isn’t feasible due to limited parking options. But the view is totally worth the walk!

Raffles City Shopping Centre

Why We Don't Recommend It:

• Convenience: While it's incredibly convenient and offers a plethora of fantastic food choices, the view of the fireworks is pretty poor.

• Experience: You can hear the entire parade, but the visual spectacle is lacking.

Kallang Wave Mall Waterfront

Why It's Awesome:

• View: It's close enough to enjoy the planes, helicopters, and fireworks, but far enough to avoid sensory overload, especially for younger kids.

• Space: There's a vast open area for BBG to run around, and it's perfect for picnicking.

• Activities: Check out @zoomoov in the mall for some added fun.

• Parking: Ample parking spaces and no roadblocks make this location incredibly convenient.

Key Timings for NDP Rehearsal

Don't miss the last rehearsal on August 3rd before the big show on August 9th!

Here are some key timings to note:

• 6:11 pm: Red Lions – Watch as these elite parachutists perform their incredible jumps.

• 6:49 pm: State Flag Flypast – A majestic sight as the flag flies high.

• 6:52 pm: RSAF Flypast – Look up to see the impressive display by the Republic of Singapore Air Force.

• 6:54 pm: 21 Gun Salute – Feel the ground shake with this powerful salute.

• 7:18 pm: RSAF Flypast (2 planes + 2 helicopters) – Another thrilling flypast to keep you on the edge of your seat.

• 8:12 pm - 8:22 pm: Fireworks – The grand finale with a spectacular display of fireworks.

• Small Fireworks: Between 7:30 pm to 8:05 pm – Keep an eye out for these mini shows.

Pro Tips

• Earmuffs: It's a good idea to get a pair of earmuffs for your little ones to protect their sensitive ears from the loud noises.

• Snacks and Drinks: Pack some snacks and drinks to keep everyone refreshed and happy.

• Arrive Early: Arriving early ensures you get the best spots and avoid the last-minute rush.
